The Royal Hashemite Court is the necessary political and administrative link between His Majesty the King and the Central Government, the armed forces and the security forces. It also provides a vital link between the King and the Jordanian people. Over time, the Royal Court has evolved to encompass several smaller entities to support the work of other members of the Royal Family, and to carry on the legacy of His Majesty the Late King Hussein. These entities are involved with various aspects of social development, economic, education and military matters. The National Security Council of Jordan is also attached to the Royal Hashemite Court. Relationship with the Central Government: The constitution describes the relationship between the Monarch and the government. As such, the Court plays the role of facilitator and supporter to such a relationship. Such a role is a necessary condition for the smooth running of the Central Government as well as the constitutional process. The Administrative Hierarchy of the Royal Court: The Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court functions under the direct supervision of the King and is the link between His Majesty, the Central Government and other authorities. This office is the highest in the hierarchy of the Royal Court. His Majestys Advisors and Secretaries have specific assigned duties in relation to the executive, legislative and judicial authorities, military and tribal affairs, as well as various other social, educational, and economic affairs. His Majestys Chief Chamberlain and His Majestys Private Chamberlain are responsible for the private affairs of the Royal Family. The Keeper of the Privy Purse is His Majestys chief financial officer. The Secretary General of the Court is the chief administrator and ensures the smooth running of various offices and departments at the Court.
